TreeFolks Austin Tree Map is a collaborative community project to map Austin’s urban forest. Everyone from kids to professional foresters can contribute valuable information about Austin’s trees and share stories about their favorite trees with their community. This project was launched in 2015 thanks to grants funded by The City of Austin’s Urban Forest Grant Program and The Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority (CTRMA).

Join us for one of our tree mapping workshops to learn how to map your trees! We’ll talk about the value of mapping trees, how to map your trees, and how to share your favorite trees with your friends and community. Then we’ll have some fun trying out the app to map the trees!

Our first mapping intro will be held Wednesday, January 27th as part of a Tree Identification Walk. If you would like to attend this event, visit our website at https://treefolkstest.wpengine.com/tree-id. We recommend downloading the OpenTreeMap app on your iPhone, Android, or tablet and setting up a free user account before the mapping intro. To set up an account and explore the TreeFolks Austin Tree Map on your computer, go to www.opentreemap.org/treefolksaustin/map.
