CommuniTrees is a dynamic and effective grant program that offers trees and planting expertise to volunteer groups planning tree planting projects on a variety of public lands. Since 1992, CommuniTrees has provided thousands of trees to schools, churches, medians, green-spaces and housing projects all over the Austin area. TreeFolks provides educational programs and materials for participants as well as expert instruction on the long term care of the trees.
TreeFolks provides trees, design assistance, tools, training, educational materials and planting supervision.
Recipients provide volunteers and tree maintenance for at least two years after planting.
For a look at locations of recent CommuniTrees planting sites go to our Recent Plantings page. Orange dots represent CommuniTrees planting sites from the last three planting seasons. Or read some letters from enthusiastic past program participants (this is a big file that will take a minute to load but it's totally worth it).
If you have a group of dedicated people that can plant, water and maintain trees for at least 2 years, you can complete the CommuniTrees Application here. If you'd like to support the CommuniTrees Program please Contact us or go straight to the Donate page.
