Growing the urban forest through tree planting, education, and community partnerships.

Mark This Date! If you mark no other tree-related date on your calendar this year BLOCK OUT OCTOBER 24th!  That's Austin Arbor Day and the biggest tree day in years.  On that day we'll be hosting the Tree-Wheeling Bicycle Tour (a bicycle, bus and pedestrian  tour of of over 50 of our most venerable Bicentenntal Registry of heritage trees). This event will celebrate the significant contribution these trees make to our communities (by sequestering carbon, absorbing storm-water, reducing our energy bills, and making our lives so much more pleasant!) We'll finish the day up with TreeFolks' twentieth anniversary celebration!  Details will follow but for now, save the date! Goodbye to Our Dear Paul Domaruk On May 6 our staff member, dear friend and family member of choice Paul Istvan Domaruk died after a long illness.  He'll be sorely missed by anyone who had the pleasure of his warmth, humor, talent and boundless loving generosity.  Paul's family has asked for photos of him.  If you have any, please e-mail them to me at scott@treefolks.org  and I'll pass them along.
