Is it Me or Has it Gotten HOT!? No, no it's not me. It's just July in Central Texas. Follow a few simple tips and you have at least a 95% chance of your new trees surviving into old age. Could you say the same for yourself if you had to stand out in the sun all summer? Check it out here.
The Biggest Thing in Forestry Since the Introduction of the Tree! Okay, maybe that's a slight exaggeration but the Great Austin Tree Roundup is making some serious waves. The Roundup is a collaboration between TreeFolks and our friends at the Ladybird Johnson Wildflower Center. It's an online, citizen-driven tree inventory that will help us understand and plan for the future of our urban forest. Check it out here and read the Austin American Statesman article about the project at this link.
Trees: They Aren't Just for Planting Any More! Our friends at the marvelous locally-produced Downtown television series on KLRU just sent us this link to a segment that they filmed of some of us TreeFolks monkeying around. Hope you enjoy it as much as we did!

Goodbye to Our Dear Paul Domaruk
On May 6, 2009 our staff member, dear friend and family member of choice Paul Istvan Domaruk died after a long illness. He'll be sorely missed by anyone who had the pleasure of his warmth, humor, talent and boundless loving generosity.
Read a little more about our Paul at this link.
The picture below was one of his favorites. That's Pauly in the foreground. He took the picture himself on the way out into the field to deliver trees.
